Fitbit Charge 4 Labor Day Sale 2022

The Fitbit Charge 4 is a great mid-level fitness tracker & it’s great for those already passionate about fitness or novices wanting to track their workouts and activities for 150. It’s one of the few trackers that offers built-in GPS, but just because you can map where you’ve been, is this device any good, and is it worth the price.

Easy to use

The Fitbit charge 4 is extremely comfortable to wear with various watch faces and bands that are available. It fits right in at the gym and even for casual nights out using. The simple interface is intuitive, with a small button on the left for a specific control. It functions pretty much like other fitness trackers, but it offers a feature-packed set of tools to help you reach your fitness goals.

You also get the regular Fitbit features and is water-resistant up to 50 meters or 164 feet. These include notifications calendar syncing setting timers, and even Fitbit pay, which is quite easy to set up and use the monochrome display is sharp. We felt the show was just big enough to view all the vital information plus it’s well laid out.

We were surprised to find the show was difficult to read under bright sunlight due to the backlit OLED display, which unfortunately found a little laggy in response time. Compared to Fitbit’s versa line of watches, the charge 4 took a little more effort to swipe through the screens a few of the swipes fail to register.

GPS & Heart Rate

The activity tracking is solid; you can track six activities, and it even automatically tracks some of your workouts but unless you select a specific action.

You won’t get the benefits of the GPS route speed distance or heart rate information. It also features an optical heart rate sensor spo2 sensor and has a fairly advanced sleep monitor. It has a variety of sleep tools to help you analyze your sleep patterns.

The Charge 4’s GPS is pretty accurate; you don’t have to tether your watch with your phone’s GPS. The Fitbit Charge 4 wouldn’t track properly at the beginning of the runs.

If you’re a serious runner, you may want to consider a running watch like the polar grit x. It’s not like the Fitbit versa two, where you can download songs and playlists right onto your eye.

Third Party Apps

You get Spotify media controls on your Fitbit, which controls your phone’s Spotify app just the basics like stop pause play and the ability to skip songs but for using Spotify since you need your phone.

You’ll be disappointed if you thought you could go on your runs and leave your phone behind. The other caveat is that you need a Spotify premium subscription to make it work.

Battery Life

The battery performance was impressive. It’s rated up to 7 days of battery life but as with other trackers. The actual mileage will vary depending on your general use; having said that, the performance drastically drops once you use the GPS function. We got only about five straight hours with the GPS turned on, so if you’re a daily runner, you may get about two to three days, depending on your runs.

Final Through

If you’re looking for an affordable fitness tracker without GPS, the new Fitbit inspire 2 is an inexpensive option, but if you’re looking for a fitness tracker with GPS, the Fitbit Charge 4 is a great choice. It should be good for those just getting into fitness or anyone who wants to track their activities and sleep for an overall health account.

The Charge 4 offers more than enough features and tools to help you meet your goals GPS accuracy could be a little better, so if that’s important, you can check out the Fitbit ionic and the basic use of Spotify. If you don’t mind bringing your phone, we think all of this makes the Fitbit charge 4 one of the best trackers in its class, but it’s certainly not the game-changer.
